I am happy to report that Jason and I are three months strong into our monthly “date nights” thanks to HowAboutWe. Jason is still traveling like crazy for business, but we are making it an effort to book our once a month date. While he is gone, I’ll usually send him some options I see on the HowAboutWe website and usually have our date booked on the day after he comes home. This way I feel like we can both catch up on what each other have going on.
For this date we both choose the “Five Courses and Wine at Noir NYC” from the HowAboutWe datebook. NYC is packed with so many wonderful restaurants, and it’s nice to have a trusted source to suggest places for us to go. We are always up for somewhere new to try!
Once an opera house speakeasy turned into supper club, Noir NYC stays true to the New York’s Golden Age era. The domed ceiling, crystal chandeliers, art deco accents, and low-lit atmosphere set the tone for our evening together.
Shortly after we arrived; we were able to head over to the bar area to try a handcrafted signature cocktail. I am still dreaming about my strawberry basil infused martini. We then proceeded to a private banquette in the dining room where we enjoyed a five course tasting menu of the chef’s French-inspired cuisine. I have to say out of all the times we dined out; we’ve never had a chef decide what we are going to eat. It was nice to not have to think or look at the menu while there. We told our waitress some things we liked and disliked and the chef prepared us a wonderful and intimate 5 course dinner.
After dinner we were greeted with a bottle of champagne and were able to finish the night with some bubbly. It was a wonderful night out for us, as we took our time, weren’t rushed, and made the entire night out of our experience.
