A Memorable 4th Captured

Fourth of July weekend was spent at one of my most favorite places ever, the eastern end of Long Island, also known as the Hamptons. For me the Hamptons has always held a special place in my heart. I’ve been vacationing there since I was 17 and have such incredible memories from every aspect of my life, when I was single, married with no kids, and now full-on mama of three. It’s also the place where major milestones have happened. I met Jason there in a share house (yeap!) 11 years ago, he proposed to me on the beach in Bridgehampton 8 years ago, and I found out I was pregnant with Gemma while vacationing there 2 years ago. We talk all the time about buying a house and think we will seriously start looking end of the summer. As much as I love living in the city, I could actually see myself there full time.

This past weekend our good friends and us rented a beautiful house in Bridgehampton. It was perfect for our 4 families and many children. Our kids have been buddies since before birth so it was amazing to spend time with everyone and catch up. The weekend was filled with endless BBQ’s, bonfires and cookouts on the beach, hours spent in the pool, and just enjoying the perfect summer weather.

Photography has been so important to me since having children, as I am trying to capture their every moment and new highlight of our lives. I know these childhood days are numbered and think photography helps me encapsulate these memories. It has also become a creative outlet and fun hobby, and I am still learning as I go. When it comes to taking photos Canon has and still is my #1 camera of choice. Especially during special moments and trips, I am always certain to #bringit and snap away. I know with my Canon, pictures will be crystal clear and I don’t need to worry too much about editing.

Our 4th of July weekend was captured by Canon’s newest model from their Rebel Line, Canon EOS T5i. I own a Rebel T3i and was completely blown away about how lightweight the T5i is! Canon’s latest campaign called “Bring It” is all about enlightening their consumers to literally #bringit with high quality images and video to ensure better storytelling. The camera couldn’t have come at a better time for me to capture my friends and family.

The touch screen feature made navigating through settings super easy and efficiently. The EOS Rebel T5i boasts crisp, detailed images, even in low-light situations. I loved the continuous shooting speed which allows for fast action capture, especially for my children who never seem to sit still. And the performance doesn’t stop with photos. EOS Full HD movie mode makes shooting high quality movies easy, also allowing snap shots throughout the video. I usually struggle the most when it comes to videos, but the new features really made my videos look professional.

I am so thankful I was able to capture this weekend and be able to look back at the incredible photos the Canon EOS T5i was able to capture.

Thank you Canon for sponsoring this post.

  1. We were out in the Hamptons too this past weekend. Love it there so much. And wow you have so much history there.

  2. I adore our Canon camera as well. Nice to know the new one is lighter. That is the one down fall with mine. It is so heavy that sometimes I opt not to take it.
