Playing Dress Up

I remember spotting Chew Beads for the first time in my beloved Piccolini shop. I immediately had to have them as Siella was just going through her teething stage at the time. I’ll admit, I never really wore them myself, I sort of gave them to her to gnaw on at times. No longer teething now, Siella plays dress up with them. Her Chewbeads are always her go-to jewels she outs on before leaving the house.

I am beyond stoked that Chew Beans actually made a children’s collection! Called Junior Beads, natch. Juniorbeads is a 100% silicone line of kid safe jewelry. Designed especially for little girls ages three and up, and come in fun necklace and bangle styles. Juniorbeads are heat-resistant, chemical-free, safe and easy to clean…and so adorable!  Siella is loving her new jewels, including the new Junior Beads glow-in-the-dark bracelet! I can’t wait for her and Gemma start playing girly things together!

ErgoBaby & Every Mother Counts {& GIVEAWAY}

I am a huge fun of baby wearing especially with the Ergobaby carrier. I’ve had one since Ryder was born and have continued to use it with each child. And I was thrilled to hear that my favorite brand has begun to work with such an amazing organization. Ergobaby and Every Mother Counts have collaborated to create a designer Ergobaby carrier that benefit mothers and babies around the world. The exclusive partnership features the designs of Every Mother Counts founder, Christy Turlington Burns, with a new celebrity designer to launch annually. This multi-year project was created to support Every Mother Counts efforts to end pregnancy-related maternal mortality around the world with products that are unique and stylish. Hundreds of thousands of women die from pregnancy-related complications each year. 90% of these deaths are preventable.

The authentic African “Umba” pattern, created by Chantal, a local designer in West Africa, was chosen by Christy to merge the unique sensibilities of African textile design with a stylish, one-of-a-kind twist on products parents can use every day. Chantal provides for her family in Togo through textile design; her batik method involves a specially carved wood stamp, hot wax and a white piece of cotton, resulting in a wonderfully natural pattern with broad appeal.

To celebrate this cause we are giving away an Ergobaby Designer Series of your choice.

Support Breast Cancer Awareness: The Moon Walk Marathon {Spon}

Did you know, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Almost every one of us has been touched by breast cancer in some way. Walk the Walk will bring The MoonWalk marathon from the United Kingdom to America for the first time to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer causes this summer. The marathon takes place July 20th at 10pm, where thousands of women and men will power walk through NYC wearing brightly decorated bras to inspire and encourage others to get fit, have fun, and raise money for breast cancer charities.

Presented by Empire BlueCross BlueShield, the overnight marathon through New York City will have an estimated 8,000 participants. The MoonWalk will begin with a participant opening ceremony celebration at Randall’s Island. Walkers will then depart on an up to 26.2 mile route, which will weave its way through Manhattan past the city’s most iconic landmarks, lit up brightly at night. Additionally, there will be a Half Marathon option to ensure that everyone can participate no matter their fitness levels or abilities.

Since its inception 16 years ago in London, Walk the Walk, a grant making charity, has engaged over 300,000 participants and has raised over $126 million dollars to support breast cancer research and those affected by cancer now. Walk the Walk has provided grants to charities such as Breast Cancer Campaign, Penny Brohn Cancer Care, The Breast Cancer Institute, and Maggie’s Centres, and has had a significant impact on the work that they do. Walk the Walk is also a proud supporter of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and has helped fund The Generation Study – the largest study of its type that aims to track the health of over 100,000 women over a period of 40 years.

Kids Style File: NUNUNU

I first fell in love with the brand NUNUNU this past fall when I spotted a few of their styles at Barneys. I was obsessed with the “star” trend and immediately had to grab some pieces. Now, having three children in practically every section: newborn, toddler, and boys, I feel like I need to find brands that cater to all three, especially now since my time is so limited.

NUNUNU is a cool yet comfortable alternative to the ordinary conventions of baby fashion. They offer sizes starting at 0 through 8 years, perfect for me. If you’re looking for cute teddy bears and fairies then you won’t find them here, they are way too funky for that. If you do appreciate a blend of attitude, style and a black tee shirt, then NUNUNU is your brand. NUNUNU blends high quality fabric, urban design, basic colors and a personal touch all in all creating a unique deconstructed look. The fabric is beyond soft and yummy which is a big deal for my son especially. His new thing is comfort and prefers sweats over jeans any day of the week.

NUNUNU is sold nationwide. The collection ranges in price from $34 for a tee to $58 for a dress. I love how you can semi coordinate the kids without having them look too matchy matchy. I’m looking forward to their new spring collection with adorable rompers, dresses, and tees all in black and neon yellow, of course.
