Mother’s Day Lunch..Godiva style

This Tuesday, I was invited to a very special private mother’s day luncheon by Godiva Spirits. The event was held at A Voce Columbus, where executive chef Missy Robbins prepared our amazing three course lunch. My afternoon was surrounded by good company, great food/drink and warm atmosphere. The cocktails were amazing, bringing me to realize that Godiva infused vodka isn’t just your usual chocolate martini drink. My favorite cocktail was the Les Femmes Coupe- a very light and fruity mix, that’s perfect for any brunch-like party or shower!

Les Femmes Coupe

1/2 oz Godiva Chocolate Rasberry Vodka

1 1/2 oz PIMM’s no. 1

3/4 oz fresh lemon juice

1/2 oz simple syrup

2 droppers Bittercube Orange bitters

1 dash Regans # Bitters

Orange and lemon slices

Prep: Combine all ingredients into cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well. Pour contents into a Collins Glass over ice. Garnish with orange and lemon slices.

First course was an arugla salad with shaved ricotta salada paired with the Parisian Breakfast.

Chatting it up with Pam from Triple Threat Mommy.

In conclusion, it was a wonderful Mother’s Day celebration and cannot wait to host a party and whip up my new cocktail recipes! Thank you Godiva.

Stroller in the city was not compensated for this post. However, I did receive a gift bag with Godiva products. All opinions, as always are my own.

Eye on the prize

It’s no secret I love evil eye and hamsa jewelry (see my many posts)..I don’t know if it’s because they are suppose to ward off evil spirits or rather that I just love the overall look. In fact, Ryder wears a little evil eye on his wrist and sometimes Siella sports a little ankle bracelet. Thats why I fell in love with this line for kids, Sydney Summer by Danielle Stevens. Luckily she has a womens line for me too!

Speed Decorating

While attending the Mom Trends Living event a couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to meet Jill Vegas, the fabulous interior decorator. She gave us wonderful and super easy tips on how to add a pop of color to your room to picking out paint colors. She recommends using the color “decorators white” when painting your home as it doesn’t pick up any other beige or yellow tones, and we all know how hard it is to pick out paint. She inspired me so much I’m now on a re-decorating frenzy. I am so excited to share with you that Jill is now offering Speed Decorating classes online starting in June. Check out www.speeddecorate.com for more information on how to sign up.

Bollywood

With Siella crawling/cruising these days it’s really hard to put her in a skirt/dress without tearing up her knees. So since its pants for now, my obsession with harem pants grows (see post), and look what I found from Shampoodle
